We aim to welcome you into our own home and make your stay pleasant and relaxing.
Ca’ Del Sole Guest House is right in the heart of Parco Pineta Natural Reserve, an area of luscious pine, chestnut and oak woodland.
On the outskirts of the small town of Appiano Gentile, our family-run country house is strategically situated at the centre of the Como – Milano – Varese triangle, at about 16 km from Lake Como.

Holidays are priced daily or weekly on a B&B basis:
Euro/Pounds 200 for a 7 nights stay
Euro/Pounds 35 per person per night.
We offer a “bring two friends, have free accomodation” deal as well.
To celebrate the opening of the Guest House we also offer 10 hours Practical Italian tuitions or Italian Cookery lessons for a small fee. The offer is valid for a limited time only.

NB. If you are looking for a place with television, air-conditioning, swimming pool and night-life, Ca’ Del Sole is definitely NOT for you.

If you are after a relaxing break, enjoy long walks and are interested in visiting the many natural beauties, museums, archaeological sites and historic buildings, you will love it here.

We can accommodate up to 4 people per week. There is a big twin room (the Green Room) and a good-sized double room (the Blue room)
We welcome couples, small groups of friends and single people, individuals travelling on their own, so you will be in good company.

A rich continental breakfast is provided every morning. We are committed to using fresh local food and to buying local, supporting the small town shops. Our teas, coffee and sugar are fair-trade and where possible we use organic ingredients. Our free range eggs and fresh milk are from local farms.
For guests on longer stays (7+) wishing to eat other meals at home we offer good self-catering facilities in the comfortable and rustic common room. Ingredients can be purchased or ordered from the local shops.

Local Transports

Local bus services, boarding in the main square, take passengers every 30 minutes to Como Town Centre and to the nearest railway station (Lomazzo) for journeys to Milan.
There is a 15 minutes walk from the house to the town of Appiano, but you are welcome to borrow one of our bicycles.
For those who love being independent and are planning to visit a wider area, we recommand to hire a car directly at Milan Malpensa Airport (40 minutes drive to Appiano).

The weather

You can expect mostly sunny and hot weather in June, July and August. In September and October the weather is generally pleasant and mild. There is plenty of shade in the garden around the house.

The green area - above - represents the "Parco Pineta" natural reserve. Appiano Gentile lies right in its heart.

Ca’ Del Sole is a family-run holiday retreat that caters for small groups in a relaxed, informal setting. We aim to make you feel at home in this delightful part of Italy. As well as comfortable, homely accommodation we also offer creative short courses and workshops, and Italian language tuition, making this an ideal destination for those that are looking for a different kind of holiday.

Guest accommodation is carefully planned to retain a homely feel that we hope you will appreciate. We have a maximum of 4 guests at a time, giving a peaceful, communal atmosphere. Guests share the use of the bathroom and the newly refurbished common area / dining room and self-catering kitchen facilities. Our guests value an atmosphere more informal and more personal than in hotels or larger guest houses.

Ca’ Del Sole is surrounded by acres of environmentally protected natural forest, in a green hilly area of natural and historical interest. We are situated within the residential area of Appiano Gentile, only 15 minutes walk to the town centre, 2 minutes walk to the nearest woods and 20 minutes to the charming XIII century church of Monte Carmelo. The garden that surrounds the house can be enjoyed throughout the seasons. Al fresco eating is a particular pleasure when the weather is fine!
